Join us for an insightful UCT GSB Durban Alumni Talk on Employment Equity Sector Targets, where we will discuss the legislative updates to the Employment Equity targets and engage in a more philosophical conversation around new ways of seeing diversity and transformation that support inclusive change in organisations.

Wendy Mahoney – Sharing insights from her PhD research on how we create inclusive work environments and drive innovation.?
Michelle Naidoo – Presenting on the Employment Equity (EE) Amendments and the new EE sector targets.

Speakers
Michelle Naidoo
Partner at Mooney Ford Attorneys
Since her admission as an attorney, she has specialised in delivering Employment Equity compliance services to her clients across various industry sectors, including the printing, manufacturing, logistics and ICT sectors.
Michelle is currently a Partner at Mooney Ford Attorneys, a Panellist of Aequitate Dispute Resolution Services, Chairperson of the Legal Practitioners Council Disciplinary and Appeals Committee and a member of the South African Society for Labour Law.
Wendy Mahoney
Behavioural specialist and the Managing Director of Newmella and Associates
She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Marketing, a Master of Arts in Brand Innovation (both awarded cum laude) and is currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership and Cultural Innovation.
Wendy contributes to economic inclusion as the chair of the South African Chamber of Commerce UK and the 30% Club of KwaZulu-Natal. She is also a council member of the KZN National Business Initiative.
Dr. Preeya Daya
Associate of the UCT Allan Gray Centre for Values-Based Leadership
Dr Daya is a Research Associate at the Allan Gray Centre for Values-Based Leadership, where she contributes to initiatives that advance conscious, values-driven leadership. She is the Academic Director and a Board Member at Achievement Awards Group, chairs the Values Stream for the G20 for South Africa in 2025, and serves on the boards of the Institute of Natural Resources and the Durban Chamber of Commerce, where she leads the Human Resources Chapter. Her research centres on Diversity and Inclusion, Employee Engagement, and Conscious, Values-Based Leadership. Dr Daya has published extensively, including peer-reviewed papers and book chapters, and co-edited 12 Lenses into Diversity in South Africa. She is currently working on a book series titled Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Transformation in South Africa.
